Faith-Integrated Therapy

What is Faith-Integrated Therapy?

Our understanding and our experience of God overflows into every part of our lives.

That is why we offer Faith-Integrated Therapy. Sometimes, this is called spiritually-integrated therapy.

Did you know that 55 to 59 percent of Americans indicate that religion is "very important" in their life? And 92 percent say that they believe in God?

Regardless of your faith, it likely impacts every part of your life if you believe that religion, spirituality, and your relationship with God is important. This is includes mental health.

At Heart of Texas Therapy Services, we do not self-identify as providing “Christian counseling.”

Our experience is that sometimes this term involves a kind of prescriptive quality, where the therapist is giving you a theological lens through which to view your experiences.

What we are interested in, however, is helping you to define your theology in the context of your present circumstances, and to identify where God is in that context.

We do not believe that it is our place or job to tell you what or how to believe about God; this is between you and God.

But we will walk with you through that process.

Your faith and your spirituality - your belief in and experience of God - likely affect every part of your life. For those to whom this is important, it is impactful to bring this into the therapy setting as you reflect on the challenges (and joys) that you encounter in life.
