Join Our Team at Heart of Texas Therapy Services
We are a group practice run by therapists for therapists.
We are currently seeking compassionate and engaging individuals who want to enhance their clinical skills while growing their practice (and working remotely) under the supportive umbrella of a group practice.
Our practice specializes in the treatment of Anxiety Issues and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
If you have a heart for treating this population, or are eager to learn, we’d love to talk with you.
At Heart of Texas Therapy Services, we offer 3 different “employment tracks” to choose from, to accommodate different stages and seasons of life:
2 part-time tracks
1 full-time track
All are W2 employment with benefits.
Both part-time and full-time options are salaried after a brief introductory period.
You will receive a consistent, biweekly paycheck.
Being a W2 employee means that we pay for part of your taxes (unlike when you are a 1099 independent contractor). It also means that we are able to offer you competitive pay with supportive benefits.
We believe that W2 employment allows us to better care for our therapists.
Because we know that valued therapists make really great therapists.

We think this is a great opportunity for a few different kinds of people.
This is a great opportunity for an independently licensed therapist who is interested in a fully-remote, work-from-home position.
This is a great opportunity for someone who loves what they do, but who is not nearly as excited about managing the complexity of the business and administrative side of all that it takes to make a therapy practice successful.
This is a great opportunity for a therapist who values vocational independence and scheduling flexibility, but with the collaborative support of other therapists and an infrastructure to help their practice and clinical skills grow.
This is also a GREAT opportunity for someone who has a heart for treating OCD and the Anxiety Disorders, or someone who wants to learn!

We offer 3 employment "tracks" that you can chose from. All 3 are salaried (even the part-time options!):
2 part-time options:
15 sessions / week (20 hour work week)
20 sessions / week (26 hour work week)
25 sessions / week (32 hour work week)15 and 20 sessions per week are considered “part-time,” and 25 sessions per week is considered “full-time.”
All 3 options begin as being paid an hourly, flat-rate per session. This is called the “Introductory Period.” After this, we will switch you over to the salary at the level you have chosen.
This means that you will receive a consistent, biweekly paycheck.

We currently can only accept independently licensed clinicians in Texas (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, etc).
Our hope is to grow into being able to provide a supportive place for Associates, but we don't have the right infrastructure for that presently.
-
Nope.
Therapists often spend way too much time on their clinical notes, and fear that doing anything less will result in not having good, solid notes.
We have a straightforward note template that offers good structure, with some room for your own touch. It allows you to provide a solid overview (and the results) of the work you are doing.
And yes, it takes you 5-7 minutes when done correctly. We are passionate about helping therapists to have a better relationship with their notes, and to get more time back in their lives.
Training to get you down to a 5-7 minute (and sometimes less!) note would be a part of your employment with Heart of Texas Therapy Services.

Well, the answer to this is, of course, different for each person.
Running a successful therapy practice involves LOTS of time and business things that some people love, and some people really don’t.
SOME of the business administration includes: marketing, website design, budgeting, lots of writing, doing your own billing, intake calls with prospective clients, managing your own credentialing, lots of communication with insurance companies, developing procedural processes, developing your own legal and clinical paperwork that meet State and insurance standards, etc.
Therapists can absolutely learn to do all of this, and to do it well!
But it's not what everyone wants to do.
A benefit of being in a group practice is all of that is done for you.
Sometimes therapists just want to do what they love, which is to provide good therapy. While also having good clinical support and an environment that will nurture continued growth and learning.
This is when joining a group practice can be a great thing.

We aren’t a great fit for people who are working full-time elsewhere, and just wanting something “on the side.”
Orientation and training meetings all occur during the daytime hours. We also occasionally meet together as a group, which also occurs during the day.We are looking for Therapists who want the support of a group practice, and are able to make this their “primary job.”
That way you are able to prioritize our meeting times, and not have to worry about juggling competing schedules from other employment. -
We would set a start date of 6-8 weeks out from the date of your formal Offer of Employment, in order to allow time for credentialing you with insurance panels, and to roll out marketing your name and profile!
(If you are already credentialed with insurances, we can consider setting the start date sooner.)
-
We will roll out the virtual red carpet!
Your first week will involve individual trainings on our EHR, documentation process, and a host of other things to get you feeling comfortable and ready to see your first clients.
Our “OCD and Anxiety Training Pathway” program includes attending trainings, weekly consultation and lots of support during the first 3 months.
You will earn 23.5 CEU’s throughout the training program.
Our goal is for you to feel well supported during the entire process of joining Heart of Texas Therapy Services.
-
Nope. But you have to be willing to learn!
Currently, there are not enough therapists who treat OCD or some of the Anxiety Disorders.
Part of our mission is to serve that population and help those individuals get free from the horrible web that is OCD and Anxiety.
We also live into that mission by bringing on therapists who are willing to learn to become skilled OCD / Anxiety Specialists.
-
You will largely have a flexible schedule that you can set how you want.
However, we do require some evening availability for seeing clients.
Clients often want this time. Since we are paying you Salary, the responsibility is on us to keep your caseload full.
You having some evening availability helps us to do that.
Below is how many evening sessions we ask you to offer as a minimum. Evenings sessions are considered to be 5pm or later.
25 sessions / week = 6 sessions
20 sessions / week = 4 sessions
15 sessions / week = 2 sessions
We do not require any weekend sessions.
